Doug Mentzer, President
Doug serves as President of The Mentzer Group. Doug has helped hundreds of clients reduce their taxes, increase their income, protect and preserve their life savings, and plan for the most tax-efficient distribution of that savings during life and at death. Doug also teaches through the Oak Ridge Institute for Continued Learning, and his financial presentations have been widely attended all over Tennessee.
Mr. Mentzer has received the Certified Funds Specialist (CFS) and Certified Income Specialist (CIS) designations from the prestigious Institute of Business and Finance and is a member of the National Ethics Association.
Doug has lived in East Tennessee almost all of his life, and currently resides in West Knoxville with his wife Sarah, and their sons Jack and Jake. Doug is involved in his local church, where he volunteers in both missions and youth ministries. In his spare time Doug plays guitar, and enjoys biking, racquetball, martial arts, and football.
Jonathan Wilkins, Director of Operations and Client Services
Jonathan joined The Mentzer Group in 2009, and serves as the firm’s Director of Operations and Client Services. Mr. Wilkins is responsible for the daily operations of the office and team, communicating directly with and serving our clients, and assisting with compliance oversight.
Jonathan is married to Jenny, and has four boys – Andrew, Caleb, Luke and Nathan. Jonathan enjoys the outdoors, plays soccer and cycles. He is an avid handyman and can be found working on various projects in his spare time.
Luke Lasater, Director of Technical Services
Luke joined The Mentzer Group in 2010, and handles all technical services and IT administration. Luke’s experience includes working with a global manufacturing company, a music publishing company and record label, an internet startup, and several faith based organizations.
Luke is also a musician and worship leader who is involved with several bands.
